Current Conditions: July 4 2009

We have had plenty of rain, almost too much for the V A Healing Waters Program. Someone must have been watching out for us, most of the real heavy rain came during lunch and fly tying instructions at the Austin Costello Club which was indoors. Right after dinner the rain stopped like someone turned off the spigot. The weather is always a big worry for that event. The stream is in great shape and should be that way for a long time. With the water temp. up, the trouts metabolism is up and they are feeding most of the day. Since there are fewer people on the stream the trout become less cautious. This is my time of the year for hitting the streams. The terestrial fishing is all most as good as the May Flies .
